Charlie

Everyone meet Charlie. Created for my work colleague and first ever customer/charity donater Hayley for her nephew who is due in a few months. He isn't going to be called Charlie, he may be, she hasn't told me. Charlie is the name of my almost cousins little boy who was born a few months before C. He is the most gorgeous cheeky little chap and is instantly adored by all fortunate enough to meet him. So when I finished this blanket and looked at it completed for the first time the name Charlie seemed perfect. Gorgeous, cheeky and adorable, sums it up.

3 at once

This weekend I have begun crocheting my next three customer order blankets. One is a lovely lemon blanket with white satin ribbon with matching white bows, the second is white with pink satin ribbon and pink bows. Both of these are for a lovely baby girl due to be born some time in the coming week.

The third is a very special order for me, lilac with white satin ribbon and matching white bows. This third order is a request from my hubby for our lovely girl to match her sofia the first nursery which we are completing, ok so not truly a customer order but it will be nice to make something for our girl again.

The first person to order with me immediately asked me how much it would cost for one of my blankets. I was shocked, I'd never given it much thought, to be honest I didn't want to charge anything. I'm having so much fun doing these new orders, and know my first customer at least wishes to pay me. So I decided that half of any of the money I receive for my efforts will towards more yarn and ribbons etc. The other half will go to charity. I will make no profit from these blankets, I have no intention to ever make a profit from them, I'm possibly crazy I know but I'm happier doing things this way. I also intend to run giveaways every so often, it's all for good causes.

the crochet crazy

Yeah......I'm going to have to be honest I've gone completely crochet crazy since my expectant mummy days. Christie is nearly nine months old now, how time flies when you're having the most fun you've ever had in your life. People especially mum's always say how wonderful their children are, not ashamed to say I'm one of them. So why the need to start a new blog (again)? Why not just carry on over in the dark depths of WordPress following on from the happy wonder that was and still is expectant mummy? Well I felt like my little crochet creations and to an extent Christie's ongoing wonderfulness needed a new space, away from the PND which still seems to dominate so many thoughts and posts and away from all that negativity.

In case you are completely new to the crazy that is my blogging skill I initially started blogging about my then fiance moving up north from dawwwn sawwth, and our cat. Then I moved over to wordpress for a little change to blog about our marriage, pregnancy and daughter. Sadly I miss the blogger world and all its simple pleasures, so I'm back to annoy everyone again, only this time I know how to crochet and to an extent....knit. so much so that while in work the other week donating crocheted baby beanies to the local special care baby unit a work colleague asked me to crochet a baby.blanket for her soon to be born nephew. Followed by another colleague asking me to crochet two blankets for her expected granddaughter. I've said yes of course and this seems to have piqued the interest of other people.

So here I am, working full time, being a wife to carrot, mummy to Christie and crochet nut job. Oh yes and I enter a lot of competitions but I blame the wonderful jo over at carsonsmummy.blogspot.co.uk for that addiction. Take a look at her blog if you're a mummy who fancies winning some freaking amazing goodies.

Keep calm and crochet xxx
